What a win last night for the Pokes! The #1 offense in the country didn't quite look in sync as they had most of the year, evidenced by the fact they only racked up 312 yards of total offense after averaging just over 537 during it's first 12 games. Justin Blackmon had another typical monster night (9 catches for 117 yds, 2 TD's), but Kendall Hunter never got on track, which surprised me. I had hoped that in his final game in orange that #24 would have another game similar to the one he had against Troy or Washington State.
While the defense did give up some yards (370), and 'Zona was FAR too efficient on third downs (over 50% for most of the game), it was encouraging to see them hold the Wildcats to just 10 points. I've become accustomed to the OSU defense giving up yards and points, but total yards allowed doesn't shock/bother me as long as only 10 points get put on the board for the opponent.
The 2011 Cowboys have an opportunity for another special year, but it won't be easy. After 3 straight seasons of 9+ wins, I know myself and the rest of the Poke Nation will be expecting even more. Coach Mike Gundy (CMG) will need to make a strong hire for an OC, and Bill Young will need to continue to shore up deficiencies in the passing game. Who replaces Dan Bailey and how reliable will the kicking game be? Is Hubert Anyiam the next Justin Blackmon, just as #81 was the next Dez Bryant?A quick look at the schedule next year, and my prediction on each game's result (I'll go into further detail this summer after I've had time to review newcomers, injuries to the OSU team, injuries to opponents, etc.)
9/3 - Univ of LA-La - Win
9/10 - Arizona - Win
9/17 - @ Tulsa - Win
9/24 - @ Texas A&M - Loss
10/1 - bye
10/8 - Kansas - Win
10/15 - @ Texas - Loss
10/22 - @ Missouri - Win
10/29 - Baylor - Win
11/5 - Kansas State - Win
11/12 - @ Texas Tech - Win
11/19 - @ Iowa State - Win
11/26 - OU - Loss
That adds up to a 9-3 prediction for the Cowboys (@ Texas and @ Missouri could be flipped), with a "worst-case scenario" being 7-5 (games @ Missouri and @ Texas Tech could be difficult). At the very least, should be entertaining!

Cowboy Basketball
I will be posting my thoughts from the OOC schedule the Cowboys played after it is complete on January 3rd, before the conference schedule tips off on the 8th at home vs. Kansas State.
I'll review each player on the team and the contributions, strengths and weaknesses they each bring to this year's OSU team (all my opinion, of course).
